I am a kind, curious, courageous, Colombian woman, passionate about learning, who feels fortunate to live and study on the beautiful lands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən-speaking Peoples, the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, where I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Global Leadership.

With over 13 years of experience in marketing and higher education, I have worked as a faculty member, program director, and dean. My work has focused on fostering meaningful learning experiences, supporting students’ growth, and building connections between academia and real-world challenges.

As a cancer survivor, I bring both personal and professional perspectives to my work. I am deeply interested in understanding power dynamics within cancer care in Canada and am particularly inspired by how individuals transform vulnerability into agency—developing and exercising different forms of power (power within, power with, power to, and power for) as they advocate for improved care and systemic change. I am committed to contributing to more compassionate, inclusive, and responsive approaches.

I find joy in spending time with my family, enjoying a good cup of Colombian coffee, and being in contact with nature. I cherish moments with my lovely husband and my beloved (and very spoiled) dog. I also love meaningful conversations, genuine connections, exploring new places, embracing new challenges, and occasionally getting lost in big dreams about the future.
